04.12.2021 - 29.01.2022
January 1, 2022, 8:00 a.m. - the Gorillas are delivering an organic cucumber to our homes. Finally. The world has slowed down and we are happier than ever. At last, nature can take a breath: in our old normality, only Christian Lindner's eyes were as azure and empty as the Grand Canal in Venice. At last, dolphins are populating the city instead of tourist masses, because La Dolce Vita is now right on our doorstep.
No, we no longer have to leave our four walls to demonstrate our generosity or against Nazis. We donate not only bread but also vaccines to the world. At last, even employees of system-irrelevant professions are showing solidarity with the system-relevant. And even Black Lives finally matter. Finally, the masks have fallen. We can think not only laterally, but also in circles. Borders exist neither in front of Europe nor in our pantries. Amazon and Tesla make our dreams come true and our paths shorter. The world is a permanent guest in our living room. We have finally saved it.
Come on, one final clap.
Then it finally starts again.
Our finite life.
The group exhibition "Apocalypse Ciao" is the second part of the non-themed group exhibition "Apocalypse Now" (Oct. 31, 2020 - Jan. 31, 2021). According to the dictionary, the friendly greeting "Ciao!" is used as a farewell as well as a greeting. It is up to the visitors to decide in which way they get in touch with the Apocalypse in the presented works. YOLO & wink smiley.
