Knotenpunkt24
Groupshow
On September 13, the Affenfaust Gallery will open the exhibition of the year: KNOTENPUNKT24. The most exciting urban and contemporary art of the moment can be discovered on more than 1000 m2 and lets us dive into new worlds.
Special highlights this year include a visit from French artist Oak Oak, who will bring his art to Hamburg's “streets”, and a walk-in installation by artist Marambolage. The internationally successful artist duo Christoph Florin (formerly Low Bros) will redesign the exterior façade of the gallery, while AQUAGRINGO brings the outer cityscape back into the gallery in the form of a extensive kiosk installation. For a performance by LP Edits from the UK, the Affenfaust Galerie will recreate a part of his studio in Hamburg, so that we can participate in the special creation process of his stencil works on site during the opening. In addition, a large new mural by Coco Bergholm can be discovered at Gängeviertel.
Following on from the success of last year's festival, which attracted over 3,000 visitors at the opening, this year's festival will once again bring together international stars of the scene with local artists, collectors and art enthusiasts. Artists from Brazil, UK, Mexico, Canada, France, Sweden, Denmark, USA and Spain, among others, inspire us to reflect on our present in a sometimes socially critical, sometimes humorous, but always witty and visually outstanding way.
For a decade now, KNOTENPUNKT has been curated by Affenfaust Gallery, presenting a selection of currently relevant urban art and contemporary art. The outstanding quality and range of the positions shown is unique in Germany and also plays internationally at the top. The focus is always on a large group exhibition, which is usually accompanied by a diverse supporting program in the form of events, performances, installations, collaborations with local institutions and art in public space. This has already resulted in a large number of designed facades by Nychos, Low Bros, Elmar Lause, and 1010, among others, as well as public interventions by SpY and Quintessenz.
The aim of KNOTENPUNKT is to create a sustainable exchange between international art scenes and interested parties and also to offer art at affordable prices, so that many ignite their passion for art collecting here. It has already brought together more than 20,000 visitors in Tel-Aviv, Vienna, Cologne and Berlin, among other places.
