Max Weiss
Max Weiss (*1995 in Berlin) is doing his Bachelor of fine arts at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg (HFBK) in the class of Anselm Reyle. In his current work, Max Weiss deals intensively with the themes of identity, loneliness and decay - always against the backdrop of a digitally influenced society. He combines photo transfer techniques that focus on skin, clothing and spaces with oil and acrylic painting, creating a dialog between modern printing processes and classic art techniques. The models he selects from the internet emphasize this balancing act between virtual presence and tangible reality. The faces of those portrayed are reduced to just a mouth and dots for eyes - a minimalist depiction intended to explore the psychology of the people portrayed.
