Carlos Fdez, known by his artist name thepenrider, only started drawing at the age of 30. But this new passion soon took up a large part of his energy. In a very short time, he developed into a master of pencil drawing, a technique that allows him to depict his mysterious and often introspective world with precision and depth.
Under the pseudonym thepenrider, Carlos Fdez creates works of art that are characterized by the creation of mysterious atmospheres. With fine strokes and shading, he captures concepts, dreams and feelings that often have a deeper meaning - but sometimes are simply spontaneous ideas that he puts on paper. This intuitive approach allows him to create a direct connection to his innermost thoughts and feelings and express them immediately.
Another characteristic feature of his work are the fragments of small stories with an open ending. This narrative component invites viewers to use their own imagination and continue to spin the story in their heads.
