OakOak

Since 2006, OakOak's playground has been streets, walls, sidewalks and roads. A native of Saint Etienne, France, he pastes his drawings in each place he crosses, with the aim of bringing a smile to pedestrians' faces when they turn down a street where they least expect it. His approach consists in hijacking urban elements, having fun with flaws that at first glance seem of no particular interest, like the cracks in a wall.
He adds his own vision, his own references, often to the world of pop culture and geekery. It's a more poetic way of imagining urban space.

His work has been published by Edition Populaire (2011) and Omaké Books (2014 and 2016). A new book is in preparation for the end of 2024.
