Das Bo

DAS BO is an artist from Hamburg who found his way into the art world through the medium of rap within hip-hop culture. While hip-hop was a way of life for him in the 1990s, today he sees himself more as a creative artist who expresses himself across genres and disciplines. Through his agency, gutistgut., he develops concepts, implements them, and sees them through.

As a musician, he helped shape German-language hip-hop—which was establishing itself internationally at the time—with his duo “Der Tobi & Das Bo” starting in the mid-90s. With his band Fünf Sterne deluxe, he helped establish German-language hip-hop in the late 90s and lay the groundwork for its massive success in Germany.
As a solo artist, he has also written and performed one of THE hip-hop anthems: the song “Türlich Türlich (Sicher, Digger)” is a timeless classic in German music history and has shaped more than an entire generation.
As an artist and songwriter, he has collaborated with bands such as Beginner, Deichkind, and Fettes Brot, among others.
