Under the title „Freak und Freitag” the Hamburg artists Rebelzer and @kriegundfreitag come together in a joint exhibition. Both artists are characterized by their unique style and nevertheless have similarities: With black lines on a white background, they draw figures that reveal themselves through humor and pointed statements. Their art conveys human idiosyncrasies and supposed shortcomings with incredible ease. Rebelzer's Freaks, for example, testify to a relaxed joy of life, while @kriegundfreitag focuses on self-irony instead of self-optimization. For the latter, „Freak und Freitag” constitutes his first art exhibition.

@kriegundfreitag has been publishing his humorous and poetic stick figure drawings on social media since 2017. These are now fascinating several hundred thousand users over there. And also analog with his book publications @kriegundfreitag inspires with his philosophical and intelligent cartoons and photo collages. They invite us to think about the mundane things of everyday life, the longing for love or the overload with the world and with oneself. In 2019, @kriegundfreitag, whose real name is Tobias Vogel, won the Grimme Online Award in the category "Culture and Entertainment" and in 2020 he was awarded the Max und Moritz-Publikumspreis at the Comic Salon Erlangen.

Rebelzer is known instead of the net, especially known locally through his street art around St. Pauli and has been on the road since 1995 under his pseudonym. His Freaks impress with their good humor and composure. Whether at the Millerntor stadium, in galleries or on international house facades - Rebelzer creates immense recognition value with his art. His character figures embody the motto: "We only live once and this time it has to work out." Because of this cheerful attitude toward life, his Freaks have also recently graced the surgical ward at Children's Hospital. Since 2009, Rebelzer has been represented by his Flaggschiffladen on Sankt Pauli, which he also uses as a studio.
