Marc C Woehr
Marc C Woehr (* 1973) is a German contemporary artist who now exhibits in national and international galleries and at art fairs worldwide. He is best known for his sculptural wooden reliefs and monumental city paintings, which with their strong contrasts and few colors are inevitably reminiscent of the main representatives of the Russian avant-garde. For Woehr it is important, as it once was for the avant-gardists, to design spatial constructions and create new realities and future cities. Thus, urban events viewed in different dimensions and from different perspectives are the central theme of all his works. Woehr has intensively studied the Russian avant-garde as well as the DADA movement and the Bauhaus of the 1920s. This has resulted in contemporary, energetic works using a variety of materials and techniques.
