Christian August is a contemporary abstract painter who works mainly on large-format canvases, but also on facades and in assemblages. His art explores the complexity of existence in an increasingly opaque world. August's works often have a dystopian landscape effect and are characterized by worlds
of worlds that explore the incomprehensible and the unknown. Through his abstract depictions of diffuseness and complexity, he challenges the viewer to question their own perspective and open themselves up to an ongoing learning process.
