Animationseries 2000

Animationseries2000 combine paintings, objects, experimental animation and whacky comics in an audio-visual interplay that invites interaction. In their works, the duo explores the aesthetic and cultural significance of everyday consumer worlds. Using familiar consumer icons, they address themes such as the search for identity, the objectification of femininity or social dystopias, as well as their inherent absurdities. Humorously exhibited banalities are intensified by a rudimentary brushstroke reminiscent of the first digital painting programmes.
In site-specific installations, Animationseries2000 creates alternative realities that allow visitors to experience and reflect on themselves as consumers in a playful way.
