In his first solo exhibition, Back reflects on those fleeting moments that escape our grasp yet remain with us. Ethereal Moment understands life as a sequence of intense experiences — instants that inscribe themselves into an invisible archive beyond time.

At the center of the works stands a reduced, black-clad figure oscillating between self-portrait, surrogate, and projection surface. She contemplates paintings, hangs artworks, or appears within staged exhibition settings inside the image. The act of viewing becomes the subject itself. Who is looking at whom? The artist at his work, the figure at a painting within the painting — or the viewer at themselves?

At the same time, dreamlike and liminal spaces unfold. Mountains, stormy skies, and nocturnal horizons do not function as concrete landscapes but as inner states. The recurring female figure — someone the artist knows personally — is entirely absorbed in the present moment. Everything around her fades. She encounters symbols and archetypal forms as if engaged in a quiet search for her own truth.

Back describes himself during the painting process more as an observer than a constructor. By consciously stepping back from the role of author, he positions himself as an intermediary, allowing the images to unfold in a genuine and honest way. The works appear like suspended transitions between perception, memory, and inner experience.

Born in Spain and currently based in Málaga, Back began his artistic path in graffiti before developing his studio practice autodidactically. Influences from pop culture, digital imagery, and nature observation condense into a clear and reduced visual language that balances personal reflection with universal resonance.
