Back is an artist born in Spain and currently resides in Málaga, the city where he currently practices.His practice began with graffiti, although it expanded years ago and he now also creates studio work, always self-taught.Back draws on his experience in graffiti to produce his works. Combined with his interest in contemporary painting, images he finds interesting on the internet, and his own experiences in nature, he creates his own universe. Statement Back’s paintings are the result of a fusion of all his current influences, such as the world of graffiti, music, his interest in nature, art history, and spirituality.The figures that inhabit his canvases, mostly female, are suspended in a state of introspection, enveloped in a dense silence that leaves room for emotion and suggestion.The architecture, landscapes, clothing, and objects appear with an almost stage-like precision, but there is no intention of realism: everything serves the atmosphere. There is a subtle tension in the postures, in the smallest gestures, in a sustained gaze, or in the way a figure occupies the space.There is solitude in his works, but not emptiness. Rather, it is an inner pause, a moment of emotional intimacy where the viewer is also invited in, without needing to understand everything. There is something contained in each scene, as if the painting knows something it doesn’t yet fully want to convey.
