Rhys Brown

Rhys Brown is a contemporary artist born and raised in South London. Drawing inspiration from found objects and everyday observations, he began his artistic practice as a young teenager by creating graffiti in his local neighbourhood and recording overheard conversations on the walls where they had taken place.

Through formal art education and years of artistic development, his practice has evolved far beyond graffiti. Today, Brown works across sculpture, printmaking, painting, and a variety of other media. He is particularly recognised for his self-developed "vegan gyotaku" technique, a relief printing process that reinterprets the traditional Japanese method in a contemporary way.

His work combines the visual language of urban culture with poetic reflections on everyday life, transforming ordinary moments into distinctive artistic narratives. Rhys Brown has exhibited internationally, with presentations in cities including London, Paris, Seoul, and Taipei.
