Flog

Born in Cholet, France, in 1984, Florian Gaborit, better known as Flog, discovered his passion for drawing at an early age. This naturally led him to study graphic design at the renowned Pivaut School in Nantes, where he laid the foundation for his artistic career.

Working across illustration, publishing, and fine art, Flog moves effortlessly between different creative disciplines. Influenced by graffiti and popular culture, he combines spray paint, acrylic, and oil with remarkable technical precision. His paintings are distinguished by richly layered backgrounds, reflections, and transparent surfaces that create an exceptional sense of depth.

His artistic universe is poetic, dreamlike, and subtly ironic—at times even unsettling. For Flog, the narrative context is just as important as the central figure, encouraging viewers to construct their own stories rather than presenting a fixed interpretation.

The creation of his "Human of Glass" series in 2020 marked a decisive turning point in his career and brought him international recognition. What began as a solitary figure against a neutral background has evolved into a vibrant universe filled with childhood memories, pop culture references, and vivid colour. These iconic glass characters invite viewers to project their own emotions and experiences onto them, making each encounter deeply personal.

Today, Flog exhibits his work throughout Europe, the United States, and Asia, and his paintings are held in an ever-growing number of international private collections.
