Delfino Fidel

Loris Delfino Fidel Bessler (b. 1998, Mendrisio) is an artist from Arogno in the Swiss canton of Ticino. After graduating from the Scuola Cantonale d’Arte in Lugano in 2018, he studied at the Bern University of Teacher Education, where he received his Bachelor's degree in Educational Sciences in June 2024.

He has developed his artistic practice through participation in renowned competitions, including Stanze dell’Arte, Zuger Kunstpause, and Junge Kunst Olten, as well as through exhibitions at institutional venues such as the m.a.x. museo in Chiasso and Zuger Kunstnacht. His work has also been presented in galleries including Better Go South (Stuttgart), Kromya Art Gallery (Lugano), and Artrust (Maroggia), as well as independent art spaces such as Bacio Collective (Bern), Molti Tesori (Mendrisio), Lager 14 (Baar), and Kunstverein Olten.

In his sculptural practice, Bessler combines everyday objects, iconic figures, and symbols of popular culture, transforming them into layered carriers of meaning and expression. Humour plays a central role, serving as both a compelling and provocative artistic device. His works explore the contradictions and complexities of contemporary society while examining the interconnected structures that shape it. He is particularly interested in how visual symbols and codes emerge, spread, and evolve, revealing the ways communication, perception, and identity are shaped in today's digital age.
