CANTWO

CANTWO has been one of Europe's most internationally renowned graffiti and street artists for more than four decades. He began painting graffiti in Mainz in 1983, and by 1987 his early travels had taken him to Munich, Hamburg, and Germany's Ruhr region. From 1992 to 1995, he studied Illustration and Graphic Design at the Hamburg Technical School of Art.

His dynamic lettering and harmonious compositions established him as one of the defining figures of the international graffiti movement. In particular, his clean, highly structured styles and exceptional sense of colour composition continue to influence generations of graffiti artists around the world. Since 1987, CANTWO has participated in countless international graffiti and urban art events, making him one of the most enduring and influential figures within the scene.

The roots of his artistic practice are firmly grounded in classic graffiti writing. On canvas, he explores typography, letterforms, colour, and structure while increasingly incorporating figurative and symbolic elements. In his recent works, CANTWO brings together graffiti, prehistoric cave painting, and historical artistic traditions, creating compositions in which different eras enter into dialogue. By merging the earliest expressions of human creativity with the visual language of New York graffiti culture that has inspired him from the very beginning, he creates a distinctive body of work that bridges past and present.
