Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol (1928–1987) was an American artist and a leading figure of the Pop Art movement. He became famous for his screen prints of iconic motifs such as Campbell’s soup cans, Coca-Cola bottles, and portraits of Marilyn Monroe. Warhol blurred the boundaries between art and consumer culture by incorporating mass production and everyday aesthetics into his work. With his New York “Factory,” he created a collaborative studio space for artists, musicians, and actors. Beyond painting and printmaking, he explored film, photography, and performance. His legacy continues to shape debates on originality, commerce, and art in the age of mass media.
